Annual Library Book Sale Haul: 2025 Edition

Hello, everyone! Happy fall. 🙂 It’s always exciting when October rolls around because it means it’s time for one of my favorite things: library book sales! I was very happy to help with sorting and setup of my local library’s sale this year. A great perk that comes along with that is getting to buy books ahead of time! These are the ones I picked out.

I was so excited to find a copy of The Way of Kings! I’ve been on the lookout for used Brandon Sanderson books for years, but this was the first time I actually found one. I didn’t buy it right away and subsequently had literal dreams that someone else snagged it. Fortunately, it was still waiting the next day I came to help out!

I couldn’t find the second book in The Stormlight Archive, but I did find the third one, Oathbringer! I’m excited to have another huge fantasy novel sitting on my shelf. 🙂

I’m generally more drawn to fantasy than sci-fi, but Dune is so well-acclaimed that I couldn’t pass it up.

Several people have recommended Murakami’s work to me, although always with a grain of salt. I’ve not read anything by him yet, but I figured I’d get a copy of something!

Short story collections always seem to call to me, and Modern Irish Short Stories is one of them!

I actually already have a copy of Crime and Punishment, but I lent it out to my brother. When I found a larger paperback edition, I thought it’d be a good one to get!

More Dostoevsky! I’ve yet to read any Russian literature, but I know I’d like to one day.

Crying in H Mart is the first book on this list that I’ve actually read before! I had read a borrowed copy, but I think about this memoir so much that I decided to get a copy of my own.

I’m always interested to learn more about Native history, so I was very appreciative to find a copy of Killers of the Flower Moon.

To finish off this list, you know I had to get something middle grade! The Titan’s Curse was my favorite Percy Jackson & the Olympians book, so when I found the graphic novel, I thought it’d be a fun pick!

Each year my book sale hauls shrink a little more, which is honestly a good thing. I have well over a hundred books on my “physical TBR” at this point. These are just a few new additions!

Have you read any of the books on this list? What did you think of them? If not, are there any you’ve been meaning to get around to? Does your library hold book sales? I’d love to hear your thoughts below!
