Hello, everyone! I’m afraid to say that this wrap-up is going to be a little dinky but sometimes that’s just the way it is.
The weather’s been faking me out a lot this past March going from very nice to very not nice very quickly — I’m hoping it’ll even out soon so I can determine where to land. Otherwise, I’ve still been pretty busy and reading has fallen a little bit to the wayside. As mentioned in my mid-month update, though, I’ve been getting a little more writing in lately. Not a ton but definitely more than I have been.
Books
After talking about wanting to read Together We Rot for months now, I finally have and I enjoyed it well enough! I posted a review where I go a little more in-depth but, essentially, it had all the nature horror goods I’ve been craving.

I picked Remarkably Bright Creatures up for a local book club which was nice! It’s not something I ordinarily would have chosen but I found that a bit refreshing — and I thought it was a lovely story which makes it even better. Admittedly, though, it is nice to have finally finished it because now I don’t have any pressure to finish any specific reads at the moment!
Currently Reading

I started Fight Club at the beginning of this month and was immediately hooked. I’ve really enjoyed the movie the few times I’ve seen it and so far the writing is sharp and engaging. I’m still working my way through Mercury and am getting a physical copy so that should hopefully help me finish it!
Up Next

This section is untouched from last month, be that unfortunate or not. I do want to prioritize any one or more of these although I do have to admit an old habit is emerging for the first time this year: a reading mood shift. So far this year I’ve been getting to most of the ones I’ve prioritized, just at a slower pace. However, I ended up just ordering some new books which may completely foil my spring TBR…
Lights DNFs / Saving for Later

Honestly, it’s with a bit of a heavy heart that I’m putting these picks on here — especially considering I’ve enjoyed both of them so much! I do intend on finishing Rouge sometime this year, I just had to return my library loan before finishing it. And I’m so, so sad about setting The Secret History aside for a little bit because not only did I like what I’ve read so far, I truly loved it to the very core of my being. Unfortunately, my attention keeps being tugged in a million different places, and I want to save it for a time when I can really fall into it completely if that makes sense.

After a random rewatch of Captain America: The Winter Soldier (one of my favorite Marvel movies), I decided I wanted to rewatch all of the movies again in order (including a few I missed like Iron Man 2). As you can see, I haven’t gotten too far yet but I’ve enjoyed the few I’ve seen. Otherwise The Princess Diaries and The Craft were both ones I was in the mood to rewatch, so I did!

- Captain America: The Winter Soldier (2014), dir. Anthony Russo & Joe Russo [available on Disney+ but I watched on DVD]
- Iron Man (2008), dir. Jon Favreau [available on Disney+ but I watched on DVD]
- The Princess Diaries (2001), dir. Garry Marshall [Disney+]
- Iron Man 2 (2010), dir. Jon Favreau [available on Disney+ but I watched on DVD]

TV
In terms of TV, I’ve watched a little bit of a lot of things. I have a few episodes left of The Bear that I keep forgetting to get to (which is kind of crazy given how much I’ve enjoyed the show). I finished up Love is Blind, the live action One Piece, and Quiet on Set. I’m still on the second season of Buffy and It’s Always Sunny, the shows I’ve probably been watching the most. Good times!

- The Bear (2022-) [Hulu]
- Buffy the Vampire Slayer (1997-2003) [I watched on DVD but I believe it’s on Hulu]
- Love is Blind (2020-) [Netflix]
- One Piece (2023-) [Netflix]
- It’s Always Sunny in Philadelphia (2005-) [Hulu]
- Quiet on Set: The Dark Side of Kids TV (2024) [Max]
Maybe it’s a little ridiculous that we’ve just finished up March and I’m still trying to find my footing for the year but what can I say? I felt this inbetween coming ever since the unprecedented amount of energy and motivation I had in January — it was bound to hit a rocky patch. As it’s getting warmer, though, I think my mind will clear a little bit. Releasing some of the pressures I’ve been putting on myself should also help a lot, I think. I have high hopes for the springtime!
