Top 10 2024 Releases I Haven’t Gotten to Yet | TTT

Hello, everyone! How’s your reading going for 2025 thus far? I’ve only finished reading a couple books but am really loving the books I’m in the middle of! On top of that, I’m so excited to read all of the books I’ve been looking forward to for quite a while. I thought I’d share a few now. 🙂

Top Ten Tuesday was created by The Broke and the Bookish in June of 2010 and was moved to That Artsy Reader Girl in January of 2018. It was born of a love of lists, a love of books, and a desire to bring bookish friends together.

1. youthjuice by E.K. Sathue

I stumbled across this one while browsing Goodreads giveaways and it really piqued my interest! The average ratings are pretty divisive so I’d like to see my own thoughts about it.

2. A Dark and Drowning Tide by Allison Saft

I’ve seen this cover floating around the bookish community a lot in the last year and it’s really stuck with me! I love the blurb and have been increasingly interested in picking up more gothic-esque fiction.

3. Such a Bad Influence by Olivia Muenter

This is another one I saw along with youthjuice in the Goodreads giveaways. I don’t read many thrillers generally but some of my top reads last year were considered as such so I’m expanding my horizons a little!

4. I Was a Teenage Slasher by Stephen Graham Jones

I’m not completely sure how I heard about this (probably through giveaways as well) but the title is hooky and I’d still like to give it a read at some point!

5. Lady Macbeth by Ava Reid

I was actually a bit disinterested in this one when I first heard about it (for whatever reason, “historical” -leaning stories don’t pique my interest as much as some others) but the idea of it has grown on me a bit! Although I’m trying to read fewer newer releases and more of my backlog in 2025, there’s a decent chance I get to this one sooner than not.

6. Where the Dark Stands Still by A.B. Poranek

Romantasy is a genre I’ve actually yet to properly face (although now that I’m looking up romantasy titles, I’m seeing the Throne of Glass series has shifted towards that branding, and I have read a few of those — that was long before that particular buzzword popped up, though) so, in the spirit of exploration, I’d like to give it a try. And this one sounds so fascinating with the Polish folklore elements!

7. Graveyard Shift by M.L. Rio

After loving If We Were Villains, I’ve been keeping an eye on whatever releases might be coming from M.L. Rio. Though the reviews on this novella are sort of middling, I’d like to still give it a read.

8. Somewhere Beyond the Sea (Cerulean Chronicles, #2) by TJ Klune

I was surprised and honestly a little skeptical when I first heard The House in the Cerulean Sea was getting a sequel — it seemed like a story that worked quite well as a standalone. That being said, I came across a copy of this one while thrifting and couldn’t pass it up!

9. Intermezzo by Sally Rooney

I’ve only read Sally Rooney’s Normal People thus far (twice, actually!) but have several of her books waiting on my shelf. I’ve not added this one just yet but I do intend to keep up with her releases a little more going forward!

10. The Familiar by Leigh Bardugo

I was anticipating this one a fair bit and actually read a few chapters of it! However, at the time I was a little slumpy and didn’t stick it out. That being said, I’ve heard such good things about it that I definitely want to give it another try, perhaps via the audiobook (a format I want to utilize more)!

Have you read any of the books on this list? Did you like them? Why, or why not? I’d love to hear your thoughts below!
